About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from a plot of just over 2.5 hectares in the Cannubi cru in Cuneo, acquired by Poderi Luigi Einaudi from Fratelli Gancia. The vineyards face south and southeast at 220 metres above sea level, on grey-white marl rich in sand. The vines were planted in 1945, 1962 and 1991.
Vinification
Fermentation and malolactic fermentation take place in stainless-steel tanks. Pumpovers are computer-controlled.
Ageing
The wine matures for two years in French Allier oak barrels, followed by one year in bottle.
Tasting profile
Rich, deep and full without feeling heavy, it has an expressive, wide-ranging bouquet. The palate is balanced and elegant, reflecting the character of its terroir.
