About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from selected vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba in the Barolo area, Treiso in the Barbaresco area, Diano d’Alba and Trezzo Tinella. The sites have different exposures. The fruit is harvested early.
Grapes
Nebbiolo is blended with a small amount of Pinot Noir. The wine was conceived as a youthful, fresh expression of Nebbiolo, with Pinot Noir introduced into the blend later.
Vinification
The grapes undergo a short to very short maceration on the skins, followed by fermentation in stainless-steel tanks. Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir are blended before the wine completes its time in steel.
Ageing
The wine remains in stainless steel until bottling, normally in March following the harvest. It does not undergo wood ageing.
Tasting profile
Redcurrant aromas accompany fleshy, sweet fruit. The palate is crisp and youthful, with soft, rounded tannins and a fresh, mellow character. Medium-bodied yet structured, it can develop the more austere side of Nebbiolo with age.
Serving and pairing
Serve cool.
