About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from sites selected over the years by the Pio family specifically for Langhe Nebbiolo. Their terroirs combine calcareous clay and compact marl with more alluvial, sandy soils.
Grapes
Nebbiolo.
Vinification
Fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks, followed by a long maceration on the skins. The lots from the different sites are then carefully blended.
Ageing
The wine matures for nearly 18 months, mainly in large barrels made from French and Eastern European oak. A small portion is aged in French oak barriques. Long bottle ageing follows.
Tasting profile
The combination of the selected terroirs and extended cellar ageing gives the wine body and structure. Its fruit is vivid and intense, while the tannins are rounded and restrained, preserving finesse and aromatic freshness.
Serving and pairing
The wine has long ageing potential.
