About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes come from the Florentine hills around Fiesole, Tuscany. The lean soils contain galestro and limestone. Vines are trained as low-spurred cordons and Guyot and are farmed organically. The crop is hand-picked in late September, with strict selection beginning in the vineyard.
Grapes
Sangiovese.
Vinification
The winemaking is directed toward extracting intense fruit and soft tannins. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks. Pump-overs are continuously supervised to obtain delicate and efficient maceration of the skins.
Ageing
The wine matures in second-use barrels and receives at least 12 months of bottle ageing.
Tasting profile
Fine, bright garnet red. Aromas combine red fruit and spices. The palate opens softly and with balance, developing into a harmonious, persistent finish.
Serving and pairing
