About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The Nebbiolo comes from the Mosconi vineyard in Monforte d’Alba. The site lies at 360–400 m above sea level, faces south-southwest and has tuffaceous white soils. These conditions give the wine notable complexity.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

The fruit was sorted, destemmed and crushed. Skin maceration lasted seven days at temperatures no higher than 30 °C. Malolactic fermentation finished before the end of winter.

Ageing

At least 18 months in 50 hl oak barrels.

Tasting profile

Deep, intense garnet red. The complex bouquet brings together ripe fruit, nutmeg and cloves. The palate is intense and combines substantial body and structure with smooth, well-balanced tannins.

Vintage notes

The mild 2021 winter included periods of rain and snow that built strong groundwater reserves. Local frost in mid-April reduced yields without harming fruit quality. Settled weather continued through spring and summer without extreme heat, interrupted by occasional storms in June and July. Strong day-to-night temperature variation during ripening supported balance among sugars, freshness and polyphenolic maturity. Harvest took place on October 13.
