About this wine

The grapes come from a small vineyard in the village of Sarezzano, near Tortona. The wine is characterized by minerality and is made to evolve with bottle age, developing more intense savory nuances over time.

Grapes

100% Timorasso.

Vinification

The grapes undergo very gentle pressing. Fermentation takes place under temperature control in stainless-steel tanks.

Ageing

The wine remains on its lees in stainless-steel tanks for more than one year, with bâtonnage. It then receives additional ageing in bottle.

Serving and pairing

Pairs with starters, first courses, fish and white meat.

Label / history

The historical “soldier” label was created by Renato Ratti as a reference to the Piedmontese regiments that defended their region during the Napoleonic period around 1800. Its figure represents the “Infantry of Tortona” from 1750, linking the design to Derthona’s place of origin.

The wine is bottled in the Albeisa, named after Alba. Renato Ratti created this distinctive bottle in 1973 to identify the territory and its wines.
