About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Faset is a geographical mention in the municipality of Barbaresco. It lies close to the Rocche and forms a continuation of the MGA Asili. The soil is calcareous clay.

Grapes

Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Harvest is conducted by hand in small crates at physiological maturity, assessed through seed ripeness. The grapes pass through two manual selections before vinification. Fermentation lasts about ten days in wooden vats and is driven by a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts. Traditional submerged-cap maceration follows for approximately 60–70 days.

Ageing

Approximately five years in neutral oak and concrete vats.

Label / history

Barbaresco Faset resulted from a collaboration in the historic Faset vineyard from 2013 through 2018. The first listed vintage is 2013 and the final listed vintage is 2018.
