About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from a family-owned 0.17 ha parcel in the Terlo geographical mention, within the municipality of Barolo. The vineyard lies among the hills connecting Novello and La Morra and overlooking the village of Barolo. It borders the MGA Coste and is close to Ravera. The vineyard was planted in 1967.

Grapes

Nebbiolo. Grapes from this parcel have been vinified as Barolo di Barolo since 2013.

Vinification

Harvest takes place by hand in small crates once physiological maturity has been reached, assessed through the ripeness of the seeds. The fruit undergoes two manual selections before vinification. Fermentation proceeds for about ten days in wooden vats with a pied de cuve of indigenous yeasts. Traditional submerged-cap maceration follows for approximately 60–70 days.

Ageing

The wine matures for approximately five years in neutral oak and concrete vats.

Tasting profile

Conceived as an expression of the village of Barolo, with a fine and elegant character associated with its position beside Coste and near Ravera.

Label / history

The first vintage was 2013. The parcel belongs to the family of Romina Barberis, Luca Roagna’s partner.
