About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

Barolo Pira Vecchie Viti is selected from the oldest vines within the Pira geographical mention, which is under Roagna's sole ownership. The vines in this collection are of massal origin and more than 50–60 years old, propagated with material obtained while pruning the same vineyard. Their extensively developed root systems reach water and nutrients across numerous soil layers, producing a complex, pronounced interpretation of the geographical mention.

Ageing

The wine spends an average of five years ageing in wood and concrete.

Production

Annual production is approximately 2,000–3,000 bottles. The precise number of bottles made is recorded on the label.

Vintages

Published vintages: 2007–2019 inclusive.
