About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The technical sheet places the origin in the Langhe, while the product page specifies multiple Podere Rocche dei Manzoni vineyards in Monforte d’Alba (CN). The Guyot-trained vines are planted at 4,000 plants per hectare and yield 45–50 quintals per hectare.

Grapes

100% Nebbiolo.

Vinification

Controlled-temperature fermentation lasts approximately 10 days in contact with the skins.

Ageing

Approximately 6–8 months in small oak barrels are followed by about 6 months in cement.

Technical data

Vintage-dated wine with an expected cellaring life of 10–15 years. Available formats are 0.75 L and 1.5 L.

Tasting profile

Clear and almost crystalline in brightness, with a lively youthful carmine-red color. Ripe cherry leads the red-fruit bouquet, joined by violet and red flowers. With air, earthy and gently bitter nuances of rhubarb, gentian and medicinal herbs emerge, supported by aromatic freshness.

Already approachable on the palate, it has delicate, non-aggressive tannins that preserve salivation while leaving a lightly powdery sensation on the gums. Mentholated talc contributes a restrained balsamic character. The alcohol is integrated and never dominant. A refined woody note and toasted hazelnut add complexity and depth to the finish.

Label / history

The first vintage was produced in 2013.
