About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The wine comes from 1.44 ha of Dolcetto vineyards in Serralunga d’Alba, situated between 300 and 400 m above sea level. The soils combine clay and limestone. The vines are traditionally Guyot-trained at a density of 4,000 plants per hectare and average 10–15 years of age, depending on the vineyard.

Grapes

100% Dolcetto.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested by hand during the first half of September. Fermentation and maceration take place together for about 10 days in concrete vats holding 3,000–5,000 L, at 25–27°C. The fermenting must is pumped over twice daily to aerate it and break the cap.

Ageing

Following frequent rackings in steel tanks, the wine is bottled and rested in cool, dark cellars.

Tasting profile

Full-bodied and fresh, with subtle almond nuances on the finish. It is conceived as an interpretation of a classic Langa wine.
