About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from the historic Brunate vineyard in the commune of La Morra. The vines are 50 years old.
Grapes
The wine is made from selected fruit.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand; for the 2019 vintage, picking took place on 7 October. They are gently pressed and fermented on the skins for three weeks in stainless-steel tanks. Malolactic fermentation takes place in wooden vats.
Ageing
The 2020 vintage matured for 32 months in large oak barrels and barriques. It was bottled without filtration.
Label / history
Gianni Gallo created the label, which features a snail and a design guided by emotion and subtle associations. Some Vietti enthusiasts interpret the images on the estate’s labels as hints about each wine’s style; here, the snail suggests slow development and a wine that should not be rushed.
