About this wine

Vineyard and terroir

The vineyard is a single amphitheater-shaped site in the central part of the municipality of Castelfranci, in the province of Avellino, at 500 metres above sea level. The soils are mainly limestone and clay, with areas of yellow sandstone rich in organic matter. Farming is carried out in harmony with the surrounding environment, and fruit and olive trees, oaks and meadow grasses grow among the vines.

Vinification

The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness, usually during the first 10 days of November. They macerate for 10 days in stainless steel tanks with daily punch-downs. Fermentation takes place in steel vats at a controlled temperature of 26–28 °C.

Ageing

The wine ages for one year, 50% in cement tanks and 50% in terracotta amphorae. It is bottled in October of the year following the harvest.
