Vineyard and terroir
The Nebbiolo is grown in areas with different microclimates within Barbaresco. This mosaic of terroirs gives the wine its depth and richness.
Vinification
Grapes from areas with their own climatic conditions are vinified as separate batches and then carefully blended, following classic methods. Traditional alcoholic fermentation takes place at 28–30 °C and lasts around three weeks. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine ages for one year in large oak casks, which develops its depth, character and noble style while keeping its elegance.

Elegant, with remarkable depth and richness, harmonious and refined.
Label / history
"La Casa in Collina" ("The House on the Hill") is Vite Colte's winemaking tribute to the Langhe, a land of wine and the birthplace of Cesare Pavese. The name comes from one of the works of the twentieth-century Italian writer, whose writing explored the hardships of life in Piedmont after the war.
Terre da Vino/Vite Colte is a cooperative of 14 large and small producers in Piedmont, established in 1980. It now covers around 3900 hectares of vineyards for DOC and DOCG wines. The vineyards are overseen by specialists from the agricultural department of the University of Turin and the Piedmont Winemakers' Association.
