The grapes are grown around Cervignano del Friuli.

Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso is native to Friuli.
Vinification
After harvest, the bunches are carefully sorted. The selected fruit is macerated for 8–12 days in vertical stainless-steel tanks to extract colour and polyphenols and develop depth and complexity. Malolactic fermentation follows.
Ageing
The wine ages for six months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Tasting profile
The aroma is complex and layered, and the wine is rich.
Label / history
The wine belongs to the “Selezioni” range. Tenuta Ca' Bolani was acquired by the Zonin family in 1970 and subsequently restored. The estate is in Aquileia, an area associated with wine since the Roman Empire. This wine received a gold medal at the 2012 Decanter World Wine Awards.
