About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The Chardonnay grapes are grown in the Friuli Aquileia region.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand, destemmed, gently crushed and softly pressed in a pneumatic press. The must settles at low temperatures for 36 hours. Fermentation takes place partly in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks and partly in French barriques.
Ageing
The wine rests on fine lees for 10 months, with regular bâtonnage that gives roundness and a velvety texture, as well as good ageing potential. After bottling it matures a further 3 months in the winery's cellars.
Tasting profile
Elegant and dry, with a refined, refreshing aroma and a soft, well-balanced palate. Bâtonnage lends roundness and a velvety texture.
Serving and pairing
Pairs well with fish, white meat, dishes with delicate sauces, shellfish and soups.
Vintage notes
2020: spring and summer brought favourable conditions, and several spells of intense heat in August did not affect the good yield. Harvest began in the first days of September. The white wines of the year show complex varietal character together with the distinctive personality typical of warm vintages.
Label / history
Won bronze medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards in 2021 and 2022.
