Early years
Chiara Barioffi's father originally made wine for himself and for friends who were willing to help fund its production. This led to the release of the winery's first Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in 1979.
Family ownership
Le Casalte has been owned by Chiara Barioffi's family since 1975.
Partnerships
Unwilling to compromise on quality simply to make its wine less expensive, Le Casalte changed partners several times before joining forces with Paolo Salvi's family in 1999. They have continued working together for many years.
Leadership
Chiara Barioffi has been at the helm of Le Casalte for more than 20 years, guided by the principle of growing grapes without chemicals or herbicides.
