Storia
No historical timeline of founding, acquisition or succession is given. Dario Princic is described as a pioneer of Friuli-Venezia Giulia's skin-contact white wines and a guiding figure for orange wines and natural wines more broadly.
Terroir
The vineyards lie on terraces in the village of Oslavia, in the heart of the Collio area, just a few metres from the Slovenian border. Small additional vineyard plots are located across the border in Slovenia.
Vinificazione
The vineyards are farmed across 11 hectares on terraces in Oslavia, within the Collio area, near the Slovenian border, with additional small plots owned across the border.
Dario works exclusively with traditional methods. He does not use cultured yeast, does not filter his wines, and makes no adjustments to them. His wines are allowed to mature for a long time on fine lees, a practice he is confident does not compromise them. He specialises in traditional single-varietal wines, though his range also includes several blends, including skin-contact (orange) whites. The resulting wines are rich and powerful yet carry a sense of lightness that makes them easy to drink without feeling heavy, with a balance described as uniquely his own. They express Collio's natural strength, showing structure, elegance and precision despite the free-form approach to winemaking.
Filosofia
Dario's wines are described as reflecting his deep and steadfast love for his terroir and his profound understanding of the grape's inner character. He is confident that long maturation on fine lees and a free-form, traditional approach to winemaking will not compromise the wines, and that they will retain structure, elegance and precision while expressing the natural strength of Collio.
