Storia
Late Nineteenth Century
The Mancini family's winemaking tradition began in the late nineteenth century.
Founding of Cantina Pedres
The determination and vision of Giovanni Mancini, the youngest descendant of the family, led to the creation of Cantina Pedres. Since 2002, the winery has made wines exclusively from selected grapes grown in Gallura.
2002 Onward
Since 2002, Giovanni Mancini's daughter Antonella has overseen a major technological upgrade, investing in both the production system and the vineyards. After a century of working with other wineries, Cantina Pedres began bottling its first wines on site. Wines under the Pedres label then entered international markets for the first time and have continued to enjoy strong success there.
International Expansion
Cantina Pedres currently operates in Europe, the USA, Canada, and Japan, with exports accounting for 25% of total sales. To support growth in the US market, Cantina Pedres opened a new branch in Sandusky, Ohio, personally managed by owner Antonella Mancini. The winery works directly with qualified importers and distributors that mainly serve the Ho.Re.Ca sector, including hotels, restaurants, and specialist shops.
Terroir
Cantina Pedres is based in Gallura, described as one of Italy's most highly regarded wine regions, where the soil and mild climate are especially well suited to growing grapes.
Vinificazione
The winery holds that wine quality begins in the vineyard, and careful, knowledgeable management guides its commitment to quality. Since 2002, investment has been directed toward upgrading the vineyards alongside the production system. Wines are made exclusively from selected grapes grown in Gallura.
