Storia
Querceto di Castellina was founded in 1944 as a small, family-run winery in Tuscany. Since then it has continued to develop, always working to improve the quality of its wines.
In 2008 olive trees were planted on the estate, on 3 hectares, to help protect the vineyards from difficult weather conditions.
Terroir
The 50-hectare estate lies 480 metres above sea level. The vineyards have layered, limestone-rich soils, which encourage the vine roots to grow deep and give them good access to moisture. The estate includes 3 hectares of olive groves, planted to help protect the vineyards from difficult weather conditions.
Vinificazione
Vines are planted at a density of more than 6,200 per hectare, with relatively low yields. Olive trees, planted in 2008 on 3 hectares, help protect the vineyards from difficult weather conditions.
Filosofia
The winery says it has always worked to improve the quality of its wines. It holds that the vineyard location, the character of the terroir, the planting density and the relatively low yields give its wines complexity and elegance that reflect the character of the Querceto land.
