Storia
Creation of Tenute Arnaces
Tenute Arnaces originated through cooperation between Giuseppe Campagnola S.p.A. and Tenute Francesco Righetti. The project was established around vineyards selected in Mortegliano, in Friuli Venezia Giulia, for the production of Pinot Grigio and Prosecco.
Development of the range
The estate developed a Friulian selection based on 25 ha of vineyards. Its initial core comprised Pinot Grigio from Vigneto Campo dei Gelsi, Prosecco DOC Brut and Prosecco DOC Frizzante. Prosecco DOC Brut Rosé Millesimato, combining Glera and Pinot Nero, was subsequently introduced as the newest addition.
Organic direction
The vineyards are now identified with certified organic cultivation. By 2022, both Pinot Grigio DOC delle Venezie and Prosecco DOC Brut from Tenute Arnaces were being presented as fully organic wines. This work forms part of a broader commitment to conserving the land and its agricultural heritage while protecting biodiversity and the surrounding ecosystem.
Terroir
Tenute Arnaces lies at Mortegliano, in the province of Udine and the eastern Friulian plain. Mountains are visible beyond the vineyards, while cold winds arrive from the east. The land is nourished by clear spring waters and shaped by river erosion extending over millennia.
The 25 ha of vineyards have a north–south orientation. Their soils are alluvial, medium textured and contain a substantial proportion of coarse mineral material or “skeleton.” These conditions define the setting used for Glera, Pinot Grigio and Pinot Nero.
Vinificazione
Tenute Arnaces follows certified organic cultivation across its 25 ha of vineyards. The organic programme relies on products of natural origin and is intended to protect the environment, biodiversity and the wider ecosystem while producing healthy, fully ripe grapes.
Glera and Pinot Grigio are trained to free spurred cordon at a density of 4,000 vines/ha. For both varieties, the stated maximum crop is 3.5 kg per vine. Underground drip micro-irrigation supplies water directly within the vineyard soil. Pinot Grigio and Glera for Prosecco DOC Brut are harvested mechanically at night, limiting the grapes' exposure to daytime heat before pressing.
Production focuses on Pinot Grigio and Charmat-method sparkling wines from the Mortegliano vineyards.
Pinot Grigio is harvested mechanically at night, gently pressed and fermented at controlled temperature in stainless-steel tanks.
Glera for Prosecco DOC Brut and Prosecco DOC Frizzante is likewise harvested mechanically at night, followed by gentle pressing and cold fermentation. Secondary fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel pressure tanks using the Charmat method. The minimum period is 90 days for Prosecco DOC Brut and 30 days for Prosecco DOC Frizzante.
For Prosecco DOC Brut Rosé Millesimato, Glera is vinified as a white wine with cold fermentation, while Pinot Nero undergoes red-wine vinification. The components are blended before secondary fermentation in an autoclave for approximately three months, followed by filtration and cold bottling.
Filosofia
Tenute Arnaces presents its purpose as the fullest possible expression of Friuli's potential, with the pursuit of quality treated as a fundamental Campagnola family value. Its approach combines careful work with the grapes, respect for the distinctions of each terroir and an environmentally sustainable outlook.
Environmental responsibility is linked to continuity between generations: tradition is paired with the duty to preserve resources for the future. Certified organic cultivation, natural-origin vineyard products and attention to biodiversity are intended to safeguard both the territory and its agricultural heritage.
