Storia
Terredavino Agricole
After years of experience and the development of detailed knowledge of Piedmont's viticultural resources, Terredavino began a new project under the name Terredavino Agricole. Its defining work takes place through vineyard selection, identifying and enhancing the network's best parcels.
The broader operation is based in Barolo and coordinates more than 4,000 hectares of vineyards distributed across Piedmont. Its production remains dedicated exclusively to Piedmont DOC and DOCG wines, ranging from internationally established denominations to smaller regional specialties.
Terroir
Terredavino draws on a vineyard network of more than 4,000 hectares across Piedmont. Its principal production territories are the Langhe, Monferrato, Roero, Canavese and the Erbaluce area, Gavi, and Colli Tortonesi. Across this broad area, wine is treated as an expression of the interaction among local communities, viticultural culture, vineyard position, soil and climate.
Langhe
The Langhe occupy a hilly area of southern Piedmont between the provinces of Cuneo and Asti. Vineyards extend over the slopes among medieval villages and castles. Nebbiolo is a central variety and changes its expression with terroir, providing the basis for Barolo, Barbaresco and Nebbiolo wines. The vineyard landscape forms part of the Langhe's UNESCO World Heritage recognition, granted in 2014.
Roero
The Tanaro separates the Langhe from the Roero, dividing territories with different soil configurations, crops and landscapes. The Rocche form a distinctive line through woodland rich in mushrooms and truffles, chestnut groves, peach and strawberry orchards, and vineyards planted to Arneis, Nebbiolo, Favorita and Barbera.
Canavese and the Erbaluce area
Canavese lies northeast of Turin in an almost mountainous setting marked by waterways, residual lakes and glacial landforms. Cold nights are moderated in traditional vineyards by topion, conical stone columns that support double pergolas and retain daytime heat. The basin around Ivrea was occupied prehistorically by a large lake created by melting glaciers, while La Serra forms a long morainic hill around the city. Piverone overlooks Lake Viverone, and Caluso lies on the southern side of the moraine.
Monferrato
Monferrato extends between the provinces of Alessandria and Asti. Its rolling hills rise between 100 and 300 metres above sea level and support Barbera, Moscato, Dolcetto and Malvasia. The Tanaro and Orba cross the region, cutting valleys through the hilly landscape.
Gavi
The Gavi area developed along the historic Via Postumia corridor connecting the Ligurian hinterland of Genoa with Monferrato, the Po Valley and Lombardy. The landscape includes the Lemme and Scrivia waterways, the Orba valley and the rocky spur occupied by the Forte di Gavi.
Colli Tortonesi
Colli Tortonesi, in the province of Alessandria, is part of the production network and is associated with Timorasso, a white grape cultivated in the Tortona area since the Middle Ages.
Vinificazione
Terredavino's viticultural base extends over more than 4,000 hectares and is cultivated by a large network of small growers. More than 2,500 growers are associated with the quality commitment described for the range, while the home presentation uses a lower figure of more than 2,000 member winegrowers.
Individual vineyards are tended by combining inherited practices with ongoing innovation. The Terredavino Agricole project adds a more selective approach, identifying the best parcels within the broader Piedmontese vineyard resource.
In Canavese, the traditional system is a double pergola supported by conical stone topion. These columns accumulate heat during the day and release it during cold nights, responding to the area's almost mountainous conditions.
Organic viticulture is represented within the range by Barbera Asti Biologico DOCG and Langhe Nebbiolo Biologico DOC. The organic approach described for these wines relies on natural substances for fertilization rather than synthetic inputs.
Terredavino operates a winery in Barolo at the center of a production network covering more than 4,000 hectares of Piedmontese vineyards. The portfolio is restricted to wines of Piedmont and to DOC and DOCG denominations.
Production spans structured and matured reds such as Barolo and Barbera d'Asti; fresh white wines such as Gavi and Erbaluce; and sweet, sparkling and aromatized wines. The stated stylistic objective is clarity, precision and direct expression. Vineyard selection for the Terredavino Agricole project is used to isolate the strongest parcels before vinification.
No single cellar protocol is imposed across this diverse portfolio. The range encompasses oak-matured reds and multiple denomination-specific production traditions, while its shared framework is Piedmontese origin and compliance with DOC or DOCG rules.
Filosofia
Terredavino presents wine as an authentic expression of its place, formed by the relationship among local society, viticultural culture, soils and the work of growers. Vineyard location and soil characteristics are expected to give each wine a recognizable connection to its origin.
The house's stylistic aim is to make wines that are clear, precise and direct. Quality rests on the daily work of the grower network, with vineyard care combining respect for tradition and an openness to innovation.
The portfolio is deliberately regional: only Piedmontese wines and only DOC or DOCG denominations. Terredavino Agricole develops this principle through closer vineyard selection, using accumulated knowledge of Piedmont's vineyards to identify the most promising parcels.
