Storia
Foundation (early 1970s)
Tre Monti was founded in the early 1970s by Sergio Navacchia and his wife, Thea. They were pioneers in their own way: they began in the vineyard, among the first to plant vines at high density per hectare and to experiment with unconventional grape varieties, and later brought the same spirit of innovation into the cellar.
Partnerships with winemakers
The Navacchias formed partnerships with some of Italy's leading winemakers, first the very young Francesco Spagnolli and later Vittorio Fiore.
1985
The winery produced its first pure Chardonnay, followed by a pure Sauvignon Blanc.
1989
Sergio and Thea's sons, David and Vittorio, decided to make winemaking their life's work.
2014 onward
Since the 2014 vintage, all of Tre Monti's land, grapes and wines have been officially certified organic.
Vinificazione
The founders were among the first to plant vines at high density per hectare. Since the 2014 vintage, all of the estate's land and grapes have been officially certified organic.
The wines are mainly made from Romagna's most typical varieties, Albana and Sangiovese, with four different wines from each variety in the portfolio. The winery has also worked with other grapes: its first pure Chardonnay was made in 1985, followed by a pure Sauvignon Blanc. Since the 2014 vintage, the wines are officially certified organic.
Filosofia
The Navacchias have always enjoyed trying new things and experimenting. The family brought the same spirit of innovation from the vineyard into the cellar.
