Storia
Zanotelli has been a family winery on the steep slopes of the Cembra Valley since 1860. The family traditionally made wine from the local red Schiava grape. With experience and new skills, they later found the area's potential for white grapes as well. Today the Zanotelli cousins run the estate and oversee distribution in Italy and abroad.
Terroir
The vineyards lie on the steep slopes of the Cembra Valley, at elevations of 400 to 900 metres above sea level. The valley is known for terraced mountain farming: more than 700 kilometres of dry-stone walls support around 700 hectares of vineyards. The slopes have a south-eastern exposure, and the soils are porphyry. Wide temperature swings between day and night give the wines their aromas and freshness.
Vinificazione
The Zanotelli cousins cultivate around 15 hectares sustainably on steep, terraced mountain slopes held by dry-stone walls.
The range includes single-variety white and red wines, three classic sparkling wines and a sweet white-grape Passito. The cousins make the wines and oversee their distribution in Italy and abroad.
Filosofia
The family says it makes its wines with passion and expertise and cultivates its vineyards sustainably.
