About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The vineyard descends along the Risc di Sassina near the church of Sant’Antonio in Montagna in Valtellina, east of Rocca De Piro. This is one of the more generous sectors of Grumello. The 2018 parcel was grassed, south-facing and situated at 450–500 m.
Grapes
100% Chiavennasca (Nebbiolo).
Vinification
The 2018 grapes were harvested on 22 October at 40 hl/ha. Maceration lasted 132 days in 50 hl wooden vats. Malolactic fermentation was completed while the wine remained in contact with the skins.
Ageing
The 2018 vintage spent 42 months across 50 hl wooden vats and large casks, stainless steel and bottle. Large chestnut casks form a defining part of the wine's maturation.
Technical data
The 2018 vintage has 14% alcohol by volume. Production comprised 6,226 bottles of 750 ml, 160 magnums and 30 double magnums.

Serve at 15°C in a balloon glass.
Label / history
The wine originated with the 2009 harvest, created to mark the fortieth anniversary of Arturo and Giovanna's wedding in the church of Sant’Antonio on 4 September 1969. The church overlooks the vineyards and inspired the wine's name.
