About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The grapes grow in Valgella at more than 500 m above sea level. Valgella lies in Valtellina, a deep Alpine valley following the Adda River from east to west.
Grapes
Nebbiolo is locally known as Chiavennasca, a name derived from the town of Chiavenna.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand at optimal ripeness. Fermentation begins spontaneously in stainless-steel vats, with maceration lasting up to 20 days.
Ageing
The wine undergoes extended ageing in large oak barrels.
Tasting profile
Aromatic and lively, with the rounded character and firm tannins associated in the source with Valtellina Nebbiolo.
Serving and pairing
Decant for at least 30 minutes before serving.
