About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
The fruit comes from small hillside plots in Trentino, typically at 350–400 m above sea level, where the soils are stony.
Vinification
The grapes are harvested by hand and destemmed, then undergo a short cold maceration. Fermentation takes place in small stainless-steel tanks at 22–25 °C, followed by malolactic fermentation.
Ageing
The wine ages for 15 months in French oak barriques, followed by a further three months in steel tanks before bottling.
Label / history
The name Mokner honours the families who once farmed in the mountains of Trentino.
