About this wine
Vineyard and terroir
A hand-picked selection from vineyards in San Gimignano.
Grapes
Vernaccia with a small percentage of Chardonnay.
Vinification
The grapes are gently pressed and the juice is separated from the pomace before controlled-temperature fermentation in 225 L French oak barrels.
Ageing
Fermentation and maturation take place in the same small French oak barrels for approximately four to five months. The wine then receives another four months of refinement in bottle before release. Prolonged oak contact contributes fragrance, softness and longevity.
Technical data
Vernaccia di San Gimignano DOCG. Minimum alcohol: 13.0%.
Tasting profile
Deep, bright straw yellow. The fine bouquet combines vanilla, tropical fruit and sweet spices. The palate is dry and soft, with nuances of acacia and almond honey. The style is elegant and capable of ageing.
Serving and pairing
Serve at 10°C. Pair with seafood or land-based appetizers, risotto, first courses featuring shellfish or fine fish, grilled meats and fresh cheeses. It can be enjoyed five years after harvest.
