About this wine
The estate's first Barolo. Vines planted in 1971, 1982 and 1998 on white, silty, calcareous soil over sandy Marne di Sant'Agata Fossili; full south exposure at 330–370 m, 30% slope, Guyot, 4,500–5,000 vines/ha. Manual harvest around mid-October; yield 55–60 q/ha (37–40 hl/ha). Maceration and alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled steel; malolactic in wood; aging in French oak of various sizes. About 12,000 bottles; formats 750 ml, 1.5 L, 3 L.
