Founding\nAntica Cantina Boido, operated today by G. Boido & F. S.r.l., was founded in the early 20th century when the current owner's grandfather bought a cheese dairy together with a large area of hilly land near the town of Asti in Piedmont. The land proved ideal for growing grapes, and the first Moscato d'Asti vineyard was planted on the sunniest slope, producing excellent fruit.\n\n### Second generation\nHis son Giovanni gradually expanded the business and increased wine sales, reaching markets in Turin, Milan, Genoa and even Switzerland.\n\n### Third generation\nFrom 1960, his grandson Vittorio transformed the company, expanding production and introducing new technology.\n\n### Today\nThe company now makes still red and white wines, as well as lightly sparkling frizzante and sparkling spumante wines.
