Storia
1826: the beginning
Tenute Chiaromonte began in 1826. The estate then had olive groves and only 3 hectares of vineyards.
Family years
Nicola Chiaromonte began helping his parents and grandparents with the family business as a child.
Nicola Chiaromonte in charge
After taking charge, Nicola Chiaromonte significantly expanded the estate and upgraded the winery's technical facilities, combining family traditions with modern innovation. The vineyards now cover 32 hectares.
First professional winemaking and 1998
The first professional winemaking took place in the family's historic wine cellar in the centre of Acquaviva delle Fonti, an occasion celebrated by the Chiaromonte family and the local community. In 1998 the winery released its first wine, Muro Sant'Angelo. Since then Tenute Chiaromonte has become known as one of the leading producers of Primitivo, receiving three glasses from Gambero Rosso, the Eccellenza title from the newspaper L'Espresso, and other international awards.
Vinificazione

Filosofia
Nicola Chiaromonte learned from his parents that every piece of land is different and can produce something unique. He believes this diversity and wealth of resources make people's work even more valuable. The estate combines family traditions with modern innovation.
