Storia
The Tedeschi family has been making wine for about four centuries, and its story is closely tied to Valpolicella: its history, traditions, culture and terroir. The family's work, past and present, has focused on understanding and making the most of the terroir's full potential.
The winery has been recently restored and stands in the heart of Pedemonte di Valpolicella.
Terroir
The winery is in the heart of Pedemonte di Valpolicella. The family regards terroir as the foundation of its identity.
Vinificazione
The winery is in the heart of Pedemonte di Valpolicella. Its recently restored building is equipped with horizontal, temperature-controlled fermentation tanks. The aging cellar houses Slavonian oak casks ranging from 10 to 50 hectoliters.
Not far from the winery is a modern grape-drying facility built with advanced technology. It has a computerized temperature and humidity control system and can hold up to 450,000 kg of grapes.
Filosofia
The family holds that terroir is the foundation of its identity and the starting point for continually raising its quality standards. It looks for ways of working in its vineyards and winery that bring greater elegance and finesse to the traditional power of Valpolicella grapes. The family describes its wines as having a distinctive personality, style and character. Gambero Rosso is cited as saying that Tedeschi follows neither fashion nor market dictates.
