Storia
Tenute Soletta was founded by Umberto Soletta in 1996 at Codrongianos, 15 km from Sassari, in Sardinia. Umberto planted the vines and olive trees himself at the age of 5, together with his father and uncle. He went on working the land and preserving his family tradition for many years, and this became his main mission. Today the winery's wines are sold in Sardinia, throughout Italy and around the world.
Terroir
The estate is in Codrongianos, 15 km from Sassari, on the island of Sardinia in the Mediterranean. The climate is Mediterranean.
Vinificazione
All grapes are picked exclusively by hand. Extra workers are brought in only for the harvest.
Umberto Soletta makes the wines almost entirely by himself. Additional workers join only for the harvest.
Filosofia
For Umberto, wine is the result of a long journey that begins with taking proper care of the vines. He often says that if the land is treated with love and respect, it rewards the grower with a good harvest and wonderful fruit. The winery states that its wines have their own distinctive style and meet very high quality standards.
