2016 — Digital vineyard records
By spring 2016, the EnoPhit™ digital field log had been adapted to Agraria Riva del Garda’s requirements. The work followed the system’s adaptation for voluntary integrated-crop-protection certification in collaboration with Consorzio Vini del Trentino and Trentino Green Network. For Agraria Riva del Garda, the customised application was conceived as the first step toward a broader digital portal for cooperative members.
The system guided growers through field-record compilation and, wherever possible, pre-filled information already available from winery and consortium management systems or provincial and national databases. Planned developments for late 2016 and 2017 included smartphone entry of treatments directly in the vineyard and a decision-support system designed to recommend treatments using the date, the most recent product applied, vineyard and territorial characteristics, and past and forecast weather conditions.

Giorgio Planchenstainer sat on Cavit’s board of directors as the representative linked to Agririva.
2018/2019 — Continued board representation
Giorgio Planchenstainer again appeared among Cavit’s directors as Agririva’s representative.
2024/2025 — Place in the cooperative structure
Agraria di Riva del Garda was listed among Cavit’s 11 associated wineries and identified with the Alto Garda wine-growing area.
Terroir
Agraria Riva del Garda is associated with Alto Garda. This part of Trentino lies within the zone influenced by the Mediterranean atmosphere of Lake Garda, contrasting with the Alpine conditions found elsewhere in the province.
Winemaking
Agraria Riva del Garda’s digital vineyard-management framework is based on the EnoPhit™ field log, adapted to support voluntary integrated-crop-protection certification. The field log treats accurate recordkeeping as a foundation for controlled, sustainable plant-protection work and vineyard disease management.
Growers begin by declaring their management approach, including ecological operations and the method used to organise vineyard parcels. Vineyard units can be imported from winery records and grouped into operational parcels, or parcels can be entered manually. Farm identification data may be pre-filled from winery, consortium, provincial or national databases.
The system covers company certificates; authorised operators and their treatment licences; vineyard units and parcels; equipment; inventories of agricultural products; special-waste disposal; plant-protection treatments; other field operations; fertilisation; vineyard monitoring; training; and irrigation or other water inputs. Treatment records can be created only for an existing parcel, by a previously authorised operator and with registered equipment. At least one atomiser must be recorded before a treatment can be entered.
When a plant-protection product and quantity are entered, the system checks for restrictions, withdrawal of authorisation and the acceptability of the dose using ministerial reference data and winery-defined rules. Repeated operations can be duplicated and adjusted, while completed records can be printed as PDF files or exported to Excel.
The broader PICA infrastructure integrates information from the management systems of the associated wineries, provides advanced cartographic management of grower, vineyard-register and grape-delivery data, and makes predictive models available to winery technicians. Its purpose is to support vineyard decisions with parcel-level information and more targeted use of resources.
