Storia
Origins of the Corsini family
The Corsini family, one of Tuscany's oldest and most remarkable families, came to Florence in 1100 from the area around Poggibonsi, a small town between Florence and Siena. After entering political and church life, family members distinguished themselves in many fields. Andrea di Niccolò (1302–1374) served as Bishop of Florence and was canonized in 1624. Cardinal Lorenzo (1652–1740) was elected Pope in 1730 and took the name Clemente XII.
