Storia
Eighteenth-century heritage
Maison Régnard possesses the historic Clos du Pavillon in the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyard. The Clos has cellars dating to 1755. Its defining above-ground structure is the Pavillon, an eighteenth-century building that marks the enclosed vineyard.
Restoration and development
Baron Patrick de Ladoucette restored the property, including the Pavillon. Following this work, he created the Pouilly-Fuissé Clos du Pavillon cuvée. It joined the house’s existing Pouilly-Fuissé Régnard, L’Ancien Prieuré.
Terroir
Clos du Pavillon lies within the Pouilly-Fuissé vineyard. Its vines are enclosed by walls and planted over limestone rock. This combination of a walled site, limestone substratum and Chardonnay forms the entire vineyard-specific terroir description. The resulting white wines are presented through a balance of finesse and power and as an expression of Chardonnay’s character.
Filosofia
Maison Régnard’s presentation of the property centres on the continuity of Clos du Pavillon as a historic walled vineyard and on the preservation of its architectural heritage through the restoration of the Pavillon. The wines are framed as expressions of Chardonnay, combining finesse with power. The creation of the Clos du Pavillon cuvée linked that restored site directly to the house’s range alongside L’Ancien Prieuré.
