Skin contact lasts for more than one month.
Ageing
Matured for at least 36 months in large French oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle.

The wine page reports 1,800 bottles, while the 2022 technical sheet gives 2,000. Production is described more generally as fewer than 2,000 bottles per harvest.
Tasting profile
Fresh, poised and distinctly mineral, with fragrance, expressive depth and substantial aromatic complexity. Its lighter, stonier soils and large-barrel maturation shape an elegant, flowing expression of Sagrantino while retaining the variety’s identity.
Serving and pairing
Suggested with noble game.
Label / history
The wine is one of the estate’s three Sagrantino crus. Campo alla Cerqua is distinguished from Grimaldesco and Macchie by its looser, lighter, river-stone-rich soil.
