Storia
The Farina family's winemaking history is tied to Claudio, Elena and Alessandro Farina, who were born into a family for whom winemaking felt like an almost inevitable inheritance. Before committing to the family trade, each of them chose to try other fields and learn different professions. When they eventually decided to devote themselves fully to the world of wine, they did so with complete confidence, passion and love.
Terroir
The estate draws on 45 hectares of vineyards in Valpolicella. Montefante has tuff and clay-limestone soils with a hillside aspect described as ideal for Corvina. Montecorna lies on Mount Masua and has soils with an unusually high limestone content.
Vinificazione
Of the 45 hectares farmed for Farina, 10 hectares belong to the company and 35 hectares are farmed by trusted growers with long-standing ties to the family, whom the Farinas regard as partners in making their wines. The family takes particular care of the vineyards, holding that attention to detail improves both the quality of the harvest and the resulting wines.
Filosofia
The Farina family holds that wine is more than a job: once this path is chosen, one must be certain of the decision and ready to follow it through. They believe genuine, powerful feelings are essential for a lasting life in winemaking. To them, love of wine also means building honest, meaningful relationships in the market, and love goes hand in hand with transparency—in what they say and in what they do, in both the vineyards and the winery. Above all, they hold that being themselves and standing firmly by trust matters most, however old-fashioned that value may seem today.
