History
The Dogliani family established Batasiolo in 1978 after acquiring the historic Kiola winery in La Morra. The project grew into ten estates across Barolo, La Morra, Monforte d’Alba and Serralunga d’Alba. The name comes from the vineyard where the headquarters stand.
Terroir
The vineyards lie across the UNESCO Langhe in Barolo, La Morra, Monforte d’Alba and Serralunga d’Alba. Five crus express different soils, elevations and exposures.
Winemaking
The estate cultivates 156 ha across ten properties, intervening only when necessary and adapting work to each parcel.
The cellar contains approximately 870 barriques, 70 tonneaux and 90 large oak barrels. Each cru is vinified and matured separately.
Philosophy
Batasiolo presents wine as cooperation between people, inherited knowledge and nature.
