Sensi

Origins

Before 1895, Pietro Sensi grew grapes and made wine for his family and friends. In 1895 he began producing wine for sale, which marks the start of the Sensi family's business.

Second generation

Pietro's sons, Vittorio and Armido, continued their father's work and founded Fratelli Sensi. The brothers delivered their Chianti by horse-drawn cart to homes in the surrounding area and to Florence.

Third generation

The third generation focused on developing the wine business, and Sensi wines became known throughout Tuscany.

Fourth generation

In the late 1990s the fourth generation, Massimo, Marco and Roberto, introduced the Sensi name to the international wine market.

Today

The company's headquarters are in Lamporecchio, in a new winery covering more than 5000 square metres.

The headquarters are at a new winery in Lamporecchio covering more than 5000 square metres. The site also includes cellars where Sensi wines are aged in barrels and bottles. Modern technology is used to optimise and monitor every stage of production.

The winery states that it uses modern technology at every stage of production with the aim of giving its wines refined character, high quality and ageing potential.
